Spots are created when hormones start causing excess oil in the pores. If the oil cannot get out of the pore in an even flow, this along with a build-up of dead skin cells form a blockage eventually create a clogged pore. A specific type of bacteria (called propionibacterium acnes) existing in the pore thrives on the oil and the dead skin cells, flourishes, as a result the skin become inflamed. The inflammation and bacteria grow resulting in a pimple.
Spots may also be caused by the collection of lipofuscin in skin cells. Lipofuscin is a brown pigment granule that remains after the breakdown and absorption of damaged blood cells. Deposits of lipofuscin debris increase with aging. They can be found in deep organ tissues as well as in skin tissue.
The face is composed of complicated anatomical components, presenting unique portions, such as the eyes, nose and mouth in a relatively narrow area. Moreover, the facial skin is densely populated by hair follicles and their sweat glands, and its stratum corneum is much thinner than that of the trunk and limbs, although it is always exposed to the environment.
Spots may be due to acne .Acne is caused by changes in the sebaceous glands of the skin, producing a fat in excess,this obstructs the pores generating injuries in the skin,it is known as grains (white points), pimples (white points), blackheads (black points) etc. It is very frequent in the teenagers of both sexes between 12 and 25 years, persisting up to 40 years in some cases; it affects 70% of the juvenile population .
There are four basic skin types:
* Dry : tends to be ashy, dull and feels tight- especially after cleansing. Pores are fine. Requires extra moisture and oil.

* Oily to blemish prone : appears shiny all over. If blemish prone there will be clogged pores and breakouts. Makeup may not last on this skin or may change colors. Requires shine prevention. May require some acne or blemish control.
* Combination skin : will be oily in the "T" zone- forehead, nose, inner cheek and chin. Outside the zone it will be normal or dry. Requires oil reducing in the "T" zone and moisturizers and oil in the other areas.
The shadowing that you see under the eyes is due to a few causes: fatigue, genetics, how deep-set your eyes are and the number of tiny blood vessels near the surface of your skin. It is more common among women of certain ethnicities, including those of South Asian descent. Although there are eye creams that claim to lessen the appearance of raccoon eyes, I don't know of a miracle product that is a sure thing. The best solution is a little under-eye concealer. Be careful to find the right shade - the wrong tint or too much will call even more attention to the area.

Although you may have full cheeks now, as we age, we tend to slim down in the face.
